Fixing the base
of the upstand
The standard kerb (metal,
PVC or GRP) would fix directly onto the roof deck.
Once positioned on place, drill through the flange at the base of the kerb.
With a metal kerb, clean off the swarf after drilling.
Fix down securly to the roof deck.
Dress the roof finishes up the outside of the kerb to the underside lip.
Fit the Roof Light as shown below.

Timber Kerbs
Preformed timber upstands should be dressed with the appropriate roof
finishes up the side of the upstand prior to fixing the Roof Light.
Use teh provided Neopream Tape and fix as shown in Diagram (C) onto the dry
upstand after removing the paper to expose the adhesive, fix adhesive side
down and line with pre-drilled holesin the polycarbonate roof light. Do not
stretch the tape.
Screw down through the plastic sela washer and tape, to form a seal into the
timber.
Fit the plastic cap over the screw heads to finish.
aS teh building dries out, check teh screws for tightness through timber shrinkage,
etc...

Kerbs
Place teh roof light onto the kerb flat to flange, mark off the position of
the pre-drilled holes in the polycarbonate roof light central on the upstand.
Drill holes in the kerb at these positions.
With metal kerbs, clean off the swarf after drilling, otherwise it will cause
staining.
Fix the neopream tape to the top of the dry flat flange of the upstand after
removing paper to expose the adhesive face which is fixed down.
Do not stretch the tape or take around corners, but cut and overlap.
Screw down through the plastic sela washer and tape, to form a seal.
Fit the plastic cap over the screw heads to finish.
